About This App
This application is a simple Japanese abacus (soroban / そろばん). It has a free mode where you can use the abacus freely, and a challenge mode with 4 operations (addition, subtraction, one and two digit multiplication, and division) and 3 difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard) where you must race against the clock to perform calculations.
Contains tutorials for:
* basic concepts
* addition
* subtraction
* one-digit multiplication
* two-digit multiplication
* division
Also has a custom challenge mode where you can set the number of questions, type of questions and difficulty.
(This is just a hobby project I'm doing for fun. This app is free and doesn't have in-app purchases or ads).

i have never reviewed a damn thing on this app store, but in the year of 2025, this app has no ads, no music, no purchases, and is entirely offline. i truly appreciate the integrity of the developer, and i went out of my way to leave a review, as there arent any pop-ups asking you to. the tutorials and challenges are simple, clear, really got me from zero to adding five digit numbers. i havent done this much math since high school, and im thoroughly enjoying it.
For practice ,this app has been wonderful!! Really step by step.coyld use more subtraction but it's still great .much better than flash cards and worksheets .I used to have the abacus out ,my phone and the worksheets. All in one here .might need some outside help into the multiplication or division if your new but still good..thanks dude!
I originally got this app to help teach my kindergartener basic arithmetic, and now it is my own go to game. The app is simple and runs exceptionally well. I love the challenge and relax options. It has made my own mental math so much faster. The education tab is simple and easy to understand. If anyone wants to learn how to use an abacus or soroban, this is the perfect way to do it.
A very well made app but the tutorials teach you to work from right to left (so for 513 x 2 you would do 3x2 then 1x2 then 5x2). As far as I can tell from other tutorials and articles this is not correct and calculations should actually be performed left to right. I would also like to have more columns than the maximum supported (9 in free-form mode) which would be more realistic.
