this game is a hidden gem, the pixel art is amazing to look at. the combat is punishing but addictive, and requires your full attention to what is going on. hyper light drifter specializes in show don't tell, it almost never tells you what's going on, leaving you to make connections and context cluse. the game likes to hide things from wether that be a heal or a upgrade you have to explore to find something. be careful when loading out of the game for it may reset sometimes when you leave.
I'm very close to finishing this game and I do want to say detach controls are great and the overall experience of the game is wonderful I have almost no complaints though I will say this for some people the wordless story plus the punishing difficulty could be a problem but for me I love souls likes and personally I would highly recommend this to anybody who has the money recommend. every section of this game has beautiful detail that's what I love.
The game translates well to mobile, to the point where I can play even better than console! My only gripe is the game can crash while pausing in-between some action, or when transitioning to another part of the map ( Happened to me twice in the western dungeon area of the map. If this ever gets buffed out, this game will be 5 stars IMHO.) Definitely worth the price of admission.
I love this game and have been listening to the soundtrack by Disasterpeace for years. Beautiful game. However, the "platforming" sections and the unlocks for performing the dash challenges in the shop are going to be nearly impossible on a touch interface. I played until I got enough to unlock the dash to test it and the most I can get is 17, while the challenge demands 1000 consecutive dashes without touching the walls or losing rhythm. Hard enough when you can cheese it with a mouse.
