I actually like this app in general, but I have to rate it poorly just because the handling of the microphone is absolutely terrible. It frequently continues listening after I have already answered, and starts typing in the next question. Sometimes it even listens to itself speaking and transcribes that. And once you click the microphone icon to start talking there's no way to cancel it and try again if you make a mistake! Incredibly frustrating and completely ruins an otherwise good app.
I like how the app has the daily lectures, weekly quizzes and so on and also that you can change your mother language. Which helps to learn the target language better. there are 2 reasons though why it only got 3 starts. first that in the lectures it's mostly listening and translating but next to never you've to talk yourself. and the other thing missing is the vocubaluries. you can review the lectures but there is no way to review and test your vocabularies like you can for e.g. in busuu.
It's a bit hard for me to say how effective it is to learn from scratch as I am using it to refresh myself, but this it does reasonably well. Some of the translations are a bit innacurate, and there is sonetimes an inconsistency between the verb introduced, the translation given, and the examples. Also the lesson summary gives only the basic conjunctions so I am not sure it's suitable beyond basic/intermediate level.
Very disappointed that the oral exercises don't work, even on the paid version. Although the app recognizes what I say and shows in writing and a green mark that I've said the correct answer, it still contradicts itself by making me go over the "wrong" reply over and over again. Or vice versa; saying it's wrong yet moving on. Contacting the support did not resolve the issue(s). Very frustrating so I will stick to the written exercises and will not renew my subscription after expiry.
