Best free chess game ever. Gives you an analysis after each game. You can step through each move of the finished game and it shows where you should have moved and indicates if each move is a book move, or the best, good, inaccurate, mistake, or a blunder. it also has example openings you can study. Also, no ads.
The app is made for tiny hands. They have an inch and a half of dead space, but they cram everything on top of everything else so my normal sized fingers often hit the wrong button, despite hitting the same spot on the screen. Also, there is no way to avoid having your review interrupted by a big game report which needs to present itself without being asked to. Why can't I review the game without the popup screens? Also, why not make a different version for people with normal sized fingers?
Since the May 2026 update, the graphics have been improved a lot but the entire analysis is useless. This is because the quick analysis now needlessly takes about 4 times longer but is limited to the same 14 depth, yet gives crazy high wrong values. Before, we could let analysis run as deep as we wanted by stepping slowly through the moves (total 3 mins), now have to pay and it has a depth limit of only 18. And it's likely just as inaccurate as the quick one, anyway. A good program is ruined.
When adding variations to be analyzed, there's no need for the pop-up notification stating how many variations are now being analyzed. The number being analyzed is obvious, & the pop-up just covers the variation analysis lines so I waste time waiting for it to disappear so I can actually see the variations. Otherwise the program works well (though sometimes can't scan obvious chessboard screenshots correctly) and the ability to scan screenshots onto the chess board is extremely useful.
