I am not sure what has happened to this once great app. More often than not now it either doesn't recognize the Pokémon I just caught or the info is way off so it has to be manually entered. It was a great app before these issues now on a daily basis I have to manually enter info it used to automatically detect. Still it is somewhat usable to join raid queues.
The app's design is strong and it's great when it works well. However, I have had consistent issues for months with it taking sometimes minutes at a time to get updated information. For example, if I try to join a queue, it will just sit there loading and then eventually tell me I timed out without ever giving me the host's code. Poke Genie has full access and permissions for networks on my device and this happens consistently across every network I've connected to.
It's well set up and easy to navigate. There's a lot of people on it, making it easy to load into lobbies and do raids online. The IV eval is also pretty good, although it has some problems with bigger pokemon. There is a bit of a paywall(being able to do special raids and IV eval), but it's still 100% functional without paying any money
pokegenie is a great idea and can be pretty helpful but there are a few things that completely ruin the user experience. The first is the host queue time limit. After waiting 50mins they'll kick you and make you requeue. Next is players dropping from a team and forcing the host to queue again. If a player drops, the host needs to be able to replace players without a requeue.
