Stories you’ll savor Thousands of titles you’ll love, handpicked for you.
The books are great. However if you want to read more than one chapter a day or one chapter a week you have to spend money. You can earn 1 point a day by "checking in" but when most chapters cost 4 points, they go quick. I could buy books from a big retail store for cheaper than the cost if I was to buy points. And I read too many other reviews about the "unlimited" option to avoid it. My response to the automated reply... is what "daily tasks"?
Had the app about a week? I'm currently reading like five stories, and they're engaging and enjoyable enough. But I'm having to read so many simultaneously because it takes SIX hours to unlock the next chapter or two. I'm not likely to spend points to unlock them, because the point generation is negligible, only one a day and some one-time unlocks. I'm a free2play girlie, I ain't spending irl money for fake money. I'll watch an ad for some in-app currency, but they don't offer that.
Would give 0 stars if possible! Got the app to read free books from indie, underground authors. I expected ads but what I didn't expect was that I would only be able to read 2 chapters every 5 hours. They twist your arm into buying the unlimited which I did. Unlimited said it was $5 something a month so I said cool cause I had like $20 on my bank account. This app really charged me $76.64 plus whatever this "courtesy" fee is which was $32 somehow totally bypassing my overdraft protection. >:(
Edited again: It looks like they finally took advice & came up with a membership. They still have it where the points needed to unlock chapters go up considerably as you unlock new ones. That still feels skeevy to me. It quickly turns into 20 points each chapter. It's basically only worth it to get the subscription (that you have to pay yearly, upfront), which is probably the point. Stories are pretty good, so I think it's worth it, but only for the sub.
