With advances in tech, cloud storage should be cheaper, larger, & easier, not smaller, more expensive, & more difficult. Especially when you pay $140-$170 for a frame, it should all be included. Now Nix decides to just change their terms? What started as a great idea, has now become a money grab. Don't waste your money on this, especially when shared cloud storage exists and apps that can broadcast pictures to your smart TV, for a more reasonable price, you probably are already paying for.
BAIT AND SWITCH!!! I purchased these and was happy to pay more than competitors for several people specifically because of the features to share photos. Then they all of a sudden start charging for everything. Even when you're not storing anything on their cloud. I know for a fact the API and features I used did not cost them a dime because I do the exact same thing for a diy photo display device. I'm all for charging subscriptions for features and services that cost Nixplay money but not this
I was having such a hard time getting my photos back on my frame because they were somehow locked. I spoke to several customer service reps but they didn't seem to be able to help. I finally got an email from Cy, and he made sure all of my concerns were addressed. I'm still having a problem getting my pictures unlocked but I must say their customer service is really good, they always get back to you in a timely manner and are so patient and kind.
The frame is fine - cost structure was a bit of a bait and switch. The app is HORRENDOUS. Navigation is all over the place, the bottom nav bar prioritizes things users don't care about, post photo upload you can't edit an image in one central place and have that feed out to all other albums, you must adjust for each album individually. Not at all user friendly.
