Cardinal Chains is a minimalist puzzle game centering on the concept of non-decreasing sequences.
Each puzzle begins with a monochrome grid of numbers, plus a few colored cells marked with an X. Starting at these cells, you must link up numbers in non-decreasing order until the whole grid is filled with color.
• 500 unique, carefully handcrafted puzzles of varying difficulty, each with a single solution
• Beautiful, lengthy chill-out soundtrack created by accomplished professional artists
• Minimalist, elegant design without timers, ads, purchases or other hassles - just pure gameplay
• Several built-in color themes, including colorblind options. Or...
• ...make your own color themes - right from within the game!
• Features achievements and cloud saves
A stroke of genius in terms of elegant design. It is perfect for mobile touch, loads and plays fast and is started (or quit) whenever you feel like it. And while it may appear a tad simple, the difficulty quickly ramps to a position where you'll scratch your head because one or two things "just won't fit". The "500 unique levels" isn't a lie either (okay...I admit: it has 501). They're not all equally difficult, but pose a challenge that you just don't get with algorithm based levels.
Superb in every way, from the quick speed it takes to get to puzzle-solving from app-launch to the pleasant music and audio, to the BACK BUTTON closing the game properly(!), incredibly smooth graphics and responsiveness with cool, auto-building walls, etc. This title has been a pleasure to play every time. Is it just me or is 325 unsolvable, though? It has 5 dead-ends but only 4 colors. Edit: All right, it's ridiculous how creative some solutions are, despite every level having the same ruleset. Thanks for the guide; this game is definitely one way to stave off dementia!
It's such a fun feeling being stuck on one puzzle and then suddenly figuring it out after days. It's easy and quick to learn the rules as long as you can count. I think that unless you only play intensive action games, you're very likely to enjoy it as much as I have.
I love games like this that have a simple concept, but levels can be challenging and requires logic to solve. Blew through first 40 levels in one sitting and loving the gradual increase in difficulty.
