Very disappointed to see this as the 4th entry in a series I otherwise love. It is NOTHING like the previous games in gameplay or aesthetics, and it is overloaded with ads and micro transactions. I like when sequels expand on a formula or try new things - but this isn't a sequel, it's a completely different game with the same name slapped on it. Hopefully there will be a Defender 5 that is closer to the first 3 games. The one thing I like is the roguelite upgrades each wave.
Was really fun for a while. Really difficult if you're not willing to spend money. Some wild difficulty spikes for no reason. You'll get stuck on some levels frequently. but with the latest update, it got alot less fun to play. you can now only reroll your skills once before needing to watch ads, it used to be 3 times. small things like that make the game alot less fun. I think I'm done with this game. sucks because I've played it for a long time.
There is so little to do. You don't move at all, which is why the free fire games and that lvl up system works. Defender series is not a game that is well adapted to this sort of system. It makes the gameplay boring and repetitive. I think this was a good idea in concept but just so boring in execution. Unless there is more interaction with the actual root of the gameplay, I won't be picking this game up again.
Gameplay is OK and the animations are really simple compared to similar games. Really wish they would do something to address the frequent network disconnects. It's really frustrating to be 15 waves in, and then something happens with the server that kicks me out. (It only happens to me in Chapter Mode, and I have a stable internet connection. I've already enabled smooth gameplay. It doesn't seem to affect the disconnecting. I don't have this problem in Endless Challenge or Elemental Tower.)
