Get this app if you want to use spaced repetition software for language learning without having to spend a lot of time creating your flashcards. Anki is great, it's highly customizable but for me that's also its problem. I found myself spending too much time trying to learn how to use the software and I was overwhelmed by the process of adding new cards, pictures and audio. DuoCards simplifies this so I can actually get to work learning my cards
It might be good at learning but I find it very frustrating. there are so many pop-ups and they're not even ads. it's just trying to get you to use the app or something. flash cards have a real world physical metaphor I don't know why this needs to be so complicated. in the real world you just pick up flash cards and you have them. every time you go to pick up the deck here, it's basically trying to tell you some other piece of information unrelated to you going through words.
I like it! The ability to share words to the app to add them to the deck is very convenient and the time between words feels a little better for me than other flash card apps. The use of AI means you sometimes need to make corrections, even in the pre-made decks. Minor issues: 1. Touch sensitivity seems off during matching quizzes, and you have to double-check if it registered. 2. Sometimes a card comes up and is replaced by another card, and it's confusing to know which word I'm answering.
This is a great app but a bit difficult to navigate and missing a few features. I wish the app would show an example sentence by default instead of having to modify the card to add it, and also read the sentence when doing audible training. I also wish there was an easier way to retest learned words more often. And, as others have said, accuracy is a bit lacking. Last, I wish I could study offline. I fly a lot and would like to study on the plane. It seems silly to need an Internet connection.
