I've been playing this game for many, many years. It started out 5 stars but has gradually lost its appeal. The programmers have added so much junk it is not fun. The number of ads, money pits, special events and pop ups has dragged it down. I only play to help teammates that I've played with fo years. New "updates" have completely destroyed my 3 cities. Used $4 million to try to upgrade facilities that had been good for years. I fully recommend NOT playing this game!!!
Really fun city builder, but really hard if you don't want to pay to play. Everything cost way too much to build. Required buildings cost a fortune. The materials needed take so long. I wish they would make one of these games you pay to buy and then everything is unlocked. If you wanted to actually unlock most things in this game it will cost A LOT!
Updates reward players: In the past; the game was playable without purchasing (requires grinding). Now, you may have to purchase a season pass to continue. I play more now; the game feels less predatory for dollars with in-game ads. It's still a self directed game; if, you figure it out. Only invest, once you learn these things. Remember, you don't own anything, including the game. 'Aquatic life' season was the fairest I have played.
Overall a very frustrating game. Nice graphics and game dynamics. It's fun for a day or two but then there is a major bottleneck around the single supply store you can build that can only produce 1 item at a time. And you need at least 50 nails to produce for residential upgrades. Each takes 5 minutes to produce. And you need the same building to produce planks, again for residential upgrades. Maybe at least 10 planks initially. And each of those take 30 minutes to produce. You get the idea!!!
