The app is fine at first glance, clean enough, works well enough. But once you start looking for anything actually useful, you quickly realize it’s all locked behind yet another paywall. After spending thousands on the generator itself, being asked to cough up a monthly fee just to access the features that should have been included feels less like added value and more like just another a cash grab.
App crashes on phone boot. Should allow to have a Wi-Fi tank monitor rather than SIM card only. Share users on the app. Interface is old design. And#1 issue app should be called GENERAC not mobilelink. Should have voltage oil pressure, ability to set weekly test. Alerts for maintenance times. Could be so much more. passwords don't save correctly with the app, it doesn't open in a proper browser so when you have to use the forgot password because they keep changing the back end, rookie coding
Works great with my generator, wifi is always above 60%, and I like all the other notifications it gives me also, it tells you about your genny. Well worth the money and saves me from going outside when it's freezing cold, if for some reason I need to check on the outside temperature. I can look in the on my app or iPad app. Wonderful and huge benefits...I just wish they had a way to monitor the engine oil with the natural gas engine, that powers the generator in the app itself digitally.
The App setup wasn't difficult, but it's absurd that I paid extra for the WiFi equipped generator, and the App only provides notifications if you PAY $7.95 / month. It's only connecting MY generator to MY internet connection. Of all the WiFi enabled devices in my home, this is the ONLY App that wants a monthly fee for simple push notifications, like when it starts running and when there's a problem. I will NOT recommend Generac to my friends because of this greed.
