I used this app, put in my activation code, and it worked fine. Coming back a few months later, the app has not saved the activation information, and because I didn't save the cider, it's asking me to pay another $5 to access the tutorials. Not worth the extra cost for the added frustration. I'd rather just go get free tutorials somewhere else and not have to deal with the frustration of repeatedly entering activation codes. ETA, it was linked to an account initially.
Family fun for hours! A relative bought one of these kits for Christmas. I initially was concerned about adding another app to my phone, however I absolutely love the way the app is designed. It lets kids, with or without the adult depending on age, scroll and find the little figurine you want to build. Then there are step-by-step instructions, and a little animated hand that shows the kids exactly what they need to do to model the clay. My 6-year-old and 4-year-old absolutely loved these kits!
Now that I've got it figured out the app is really good. The only thing really unclear in the instructions is the size.. but we seem to have figured it out. That being said .. figuring out how to activate the code was a mess. My kid opened the packaging so of course the slip of paper with the code got tossed then it wasn't very clear that I didn't have to make a log in. Generally I do like this product but the UX could use a little more thought.
Apparently it's possible to use the code on a collection other than the one you purchased. Why not have a different code for each collection so that doesn't happen? That's what Lego does, and they don't even charge for the instructions. Or, put the QR scan / code entry on the home page, and then require the user to "Select a collection to unlock" to make it more obvious.
