I tried to like this game, I really did, but it just got way too grindy. I spent most of my time waiting for the random number generator to give me the items I actually need from poorly balanced drop tables. I've been trying for two days to get one last green mushroom, and entered the dungeon a good two dozen times without finding a friggin mummy, which means I can't finish my quests. Lots of potential, but not enjoyable in current form. Might check back in a year or so and see if it's improved.
I am really enjoying the relaxed nature of this game. I think maybe adjusting the heal rates of some of the potions and food would be good, boosting them slightly to make a little more of a difference when you are in the dungeons would offset the damage you get stuck with from waiting on the dodge and weapon timers. Also adjusting the favor tokens to 10 and 25 points of favor instead just 1 or 3 points out of the 100 needed to raise their reputation of you might help making friends on the isle.
Seems fun and cute, but the broken controller support makes it hard for me to really get into. I've tried several different controllers, and only the d-pad seems to function as intended. Every other button/bumper/trigger either does nothing or teleports the on-screen cursor to the lower left corner of the screen. No way to select or interact with anything outside of using the touchscreen.
It's an alright game, I like the concept. The biggest pros are the asthetics, kinda has zelda vibes, and I like that you have class choices. The cons are the deal breaker. I'm not a fan of the slow combat, and would have loved a more zelda like pace with the combat. Overall as a few good spots in the story, but the quests are repetitive. Last lesser point is the random typos in the text. Overall I kinda like the idea, but it has quite a few fundamental things that could be better. Don't give up.
