I used to play this game years ago and absolutely loved it so much that I remembered it and re-downloaded it, but it's a bit different and more difficult to play now. The progression is much slower because you have less access to getting the different powers and things that help your civilization expand. It feels way more play-to-win now and that's frustrating. I've hit a point in the game where I feel like I can't get much further if I don't drop some money.
I am enjoying the game a lot, but I've realized that there is such a large increase in powers when you use them, it feels like it is increasing too fast. The difficulty of the game spirals at a certain point and you have to log back in to gather materials but not play, which is frustrating. The new updates are nice but dint feel that robust for being so many years apart.
I'd love to give this game 5 stars, and for the game itself I would, but like so many games these days, it's all about the microtransactions. Developers don't seem to care about the gaming experience, they just wanna make max money as fast as possible. It doesn't take long until the resentment builds up at how little actual gameplay I've received for the amount of money I've spent. I'd love to be able to buy this game and actually play it, instead of going broke to play in 5 min increments. BOO!
I have enjoyed this game greatly for its uniqueness and aesthetic qualities. It is fun, if at times in the later game a little mundane, but it has enough to play to make it worth your while. It operates on freemium, and you can do just fine without purchases (which are good because the pricing is far too high) Their are two main problems with the game: 1.) Requires online access to start the game 2.) I played this game years ago, and little has changed since then. Updates are almost nonexistent
