As someone who's playes this for over a year, it's a pretty cool strategy game, good artwork, and a lot of things to do. Legends are hard, but not impossible, and they offer generous rewards. However, connectivity issues are a thing and it does feel like the playerbase is dwindling. Lately, I can barely start the game without it crashing on me, making it basically unplayable for me.
I have some performance issues that turn fights into a bit of a leggy slog, but I'm not sure how much of that is my end vs the game's. Beyond that, it's a solid strategy game. You don't control units once the fight begins, so it's all about placement and skill analysis. Gacha rates are pretty decent, and a good chunk of low-rarity units are actually better than some high-tier units. Minor nitpick, but a lot of designs are far more sexualized than I like, and I wish there were more modest skins.
Played since global launch. Won't play more. Initially it's fun and the story is actually okay. The auto-battles are fun at first, but become boring VERY fast. You'll find a few specific units to focus on and once you get them as powered up as you're able, you find yourself hitting a hard paywall. Drop rates for anything you actually want are garbage. I did actually pay real money and after this much time, still never pulled anything worthwhile.
Though the game is now offline and only offers standalone, I will keep coming back as long as it's live. I played Brave Nine back when it was still the original Brown Dust and it never lost its appeal to me. 7 years of interest.The story, the art, and the gameplay were truly a one of a kind combination. I thank the devs for all the hard work that went into maintaining it for so long, and for allowing the players the sandbox client. The memories mean a lot. Godspeed, B9.
