This app is perfectly fine. The paid features boil down to prepaying for a year's worth of training plans which is fine. However the app seems to have amnesia and doesn't store your performance data across training plans. So you still have to track all of your training yourself in another place. Similarly even after paying, on strength days it still recommends buying Hals book for workout suggestions. Unless there are some major changes this year, I'll be cancelling my sub for Hals book.
Pretty simplistic. It's helpful in that you get a workout assignment every morning so you don't need to think. But the algorithm serving up the assignments is far too simple, not taking altitude, elevation gain, heart rate, age, illness, injury or anything really except self reported difficulty of the run, into account. You can't swap assignments day-to-day if necessary without messing up your score.
This is a great app overall, but I think it needs some work. It does not provide any flexibility to move runs throughout the week and it calls every kind of training (even cross-training) a run, which makes ticking the boxes each week almost impossible. I also don't like that if you want to start a plan you can't fade in your trainings until the plan actually starts and you have to start them in the specific alloted time they provide. I like the interface, being able to see the runs in the plan
The suggested paces it calculated for me were more on the conservative side but I didn't mind this and ran faster if it kept the run the same zone. The free version of the program was more than enough and successful for two races I ran (half and marathon). I beat my goal times by several minues. For me, I like the simplicity of the app. "Hal Says" is always a good read too!
