Nonograms, also known as Paint by Numbers, Picross, Griddlers, Pic-a-Pix, Hanjie, and various other names, are picture Logic puzzle in which cells in a grid must be colored or left blank according to numbers at the side of the grid to reveal a hidden picture.
*** Rule ***
In Nonogram, the numbers are a form of discrete tomography that measures how many unbroken lines of filled-in squares there are in any given row or column. For example, a clue of "4 8 3" would mean there are sets of four, eight, and three filled squares, in that order, with at least one blank square between successive sets.

*** Strategy ***
Simpler puzzles can usually be solved by a reasoning on a single row only (or a single column) at each given time, to determine as many boxes and spaces on that row as possible. Then trying another row (or column), until there are no rows that contain undetermined cells.
Some more difficult puzzles may also require several types of "what if?" reasoning that include more than one row (or column). This works on searching for contradictions: When a cell cannot be a box, because some other cell would produce an error, it will definitely be a space. And vice versa. Advanced solvers are sometimes able to search even deeper than into the first "what if?" reasoning. It takes, however, a lot of time to get some progress.
If you like to solve classic logic puzzles such as sudoku, minesweeper, pixel art or different math games, you will love Nonogram.

My favorite monogram game. I've completed all ~1300 puzzles, many multiple times. Because many of the puzzles are larger, I find it works better on my tablet than my phone. The colors are great and the pictures more realistic than most. I love the animals, and the facts about each one. The ad free purchase was totally worth it. I wish there were more puzzles, but I can't really complain with so many high quality pictures. Out of the total, there were less than 10 that I couldn't solve wo a hint
The game is good, one thing that is missing is the undo button. And many times I had puzzles with multiple solutions, the "ant" one had like 3 solutions and the game wont allow you to proceed unless you do the "intended solution". The UI also needs some optimization, for example if you press on the "menu" it will trigger twice and when you want to "redo" it will choose the very very first puzzle from the list.
Favorite nonogram app, love the user interface! Highlights are the controls, ability to change the colors (easy on the eyes), naturally darker color scheme, & the settings where you can change it so it's not about lives or getting it all correct in one go! I can go through and correct mistakes without having to start over & don't have to worry about accidentally going "too fast" since I won't get penalized for a fat finger here & there. Plus there's the little factual reward upon completion!
Almost perfect version of this game. I really don't understand what people are talking about when it comes to controls. You can hold down and see exactly what you're touching before committing. I only have two critiques: I wish I could change settings mid game. Like turning sound on/off. Second, the game darkens the numbers that you've completed, but it does it even if *you* don't know you've completed it (as in, it could be a different answer). This basically gives a big clue away.
