cool app! I appreciate it's simplicity. I think it could be improved with the ability to send messages to people and with more instruments. i'd personally love a banjo option!! I realize Tonic is always adding instruments, but it'd be great if you guys added an option to select "other" and write what the instrument is. the closest option is "general" which doesn't quite fit.
Pros: community groups, good way to keep track of practice time. Basically everything it's supposed to be, with the addition of you get to listen to professionals play. leader boards and practice streaks are good motivation to practice everyday Cons: "Daily bonus" at least for me makes it so there's not so much incentive to go beyond 20 minutes a day of practice. Studios take too long to load.
I love this app. It helps me to track what I have practiced and when. It also has fun challenges in which you can compete against other musicians to see who can get into the top 10 or top 100 of the leaderboard in XP (Experience Points). The more you practice, the further up the Leaderboard you move. I also love the various badges you can earn such as Practice Streaks. I use this app every day.
Installed the May update today. To my disappointment (but not surprise), the most recent release introduced 3 new bugs: app crashes when a studio ends, tapping on an invite also crashes the app, and the studios page loads somehow even slower than before. I've been using this app almost from it's launch nearly 3 years ago, and still the same ole song & dance. I hope one day the team will prioritize testing to catch bugs before releasing updates and begin to take user feedback into consideration.
