This is a great game play to unwind. The visual style is clean and beautiful, the characters endearing, and the music is playful while setting the tone of a classic who-done-it. Each puzzle limits the number of moves you can make, but it's not timed, so you can focus on strategy. As you complete puzzles, you're rewarded with more of the linear storyline and you get to meet new and interesting characters.
I was able to get to level 152 before the game got too hard. I don't mind a challenge but like EVERY match 3 game you get to a place where you really can't play unless you spend money. On top of that before clues came up you had to pass sometimes 7 games. Got stupid the higher you go. Don't waste your time. (Responding to developers: I understand the need for puzzles to get more difficult. But when i spend over an hour playing one puzzle, out of boosters & goes for days that's rediculous.)
This is one of those swiping games that very quickly becomes impossible to beat without $$$ boosters. Very little story to "puzzle" ratio, and, to be clear, it's not like you're solving a puzzle, it's in the model of Candy Crush-type games. You don't "interrogate" suspects, it's all preselected and you just click through text on screen. Irritating how impossible it is to get through "levels," and there's very little pay off in story for each of them.
This game is far less about solving a murder than about playing ubiquitously stupid "puzzles" that get progressively - and rapidly - more complex. Every step and every "clue" requires a puzzle that must be solved before advancing, seeing the clue, or having a very brief conversation with the witness or informant. It is not only one of the dumbest games I have seen, but one of the most boring.
