Screen Off & Play allows you to turn off the screen (by displaying a black overlay) while keeping your device and apps fully active. Save battery on both OLED and LCD screens while running your favorite apps!

How to use:

great idea, but some features are not yet complete. display over other apps permission request failed, don't know where to report bugs so...
Works great while using a external monitor. With this app i could just make the screen black (what saves battery, and prevents eventually burn-ins) I just used the quick switch icon when swiping down from status bar. I didn't give it any permissions and yet it still worked (maybe because i just use it on the homescreen, so its not overlaying any apps) Can recommend it.
This is a unique one of a kind app. If you activate it via the Quick Settings Drop-down, it turns the screen off without locking the phone. Drag your finger on the screen, and the screen comes back alive. You will need to edit the Quick Settings Drop-down Menu to make this program's tile visible. If you want a traditional lock screen, you activate this program via the regular menu. This may confuse the user. maybe the author should add an additional regular menu item to turn off the screen ???
You made a really good app, in my opinion. Here is what I want you add to it: The first one is vary simple, just add a backhandler to your code that absorbs the back button input so that it does not exit the app when one accidentally swipe up and click the back button. Whether this is an option to the user or permanent add on is up to you. The second is to add a line against the screen that does the same as the icon in the notification panel.
