For buybacks this app is terrible, maybe it's good for purchasing, but buybacks seem to be an afterthought at best., and in fact the software for some reason left some of the books they wanted out of the buy at the end. On the other hand, they paid the best, were the fastest at processing, and were very good at communication. If you have the time, this should be your first choice
it can be cheaper when buying old.however sometimes depending on the book its not by much. check other sites first and see if it's worth it cause sometimes a brand new book on other apps (Amazon maybe) is $2 more than the used one."new" on Thriftbooks is more expensive than other sites that also sell "new" usually. "acceptable" or "good books" are sometimes ripped, bent, are ripping apart from the borders (hardcovers), or water logged. Also prices i feel have gone up. Buy back is scammy.
Overall, I appreciate paying less for books. BUT, you get less than a dollar for any buy back books, it's very rare you'd get above a dollar. Even for books you bought "new". Sometimes the quality does not match the description. Often it's better than described, but sometimes it's not nearly as good as what they charged for. They're not very consistent with the quality reviews. Worst of all, sometimes you get a book with a price sticker that is much less than what they charged on this site.
I'm rating the company more than the app, but both are great. Customer service is amazing. I've only had one book received that was not in the condition stated. When I contacted them through online chat, they resolved the problem in no more than thirty minutes. I haven't found prices these great for the quality anywhere else. Even second hand bookstores with same physical condition books are higher priced. They also do a reward system, which is awesome. I. LOVE. THIS. COMPANY!!!
