Accessibility Service
To effectively block you from using the addictive and distracting apps the "Digital Detox" app may ask you to enable its Accessibility Service if you decide to use the cheating protection features.
We only use this service to block you from leaving an ongoing Detox without paying an accountability fee or using a quit code (the cheating). We do not use the service to collect any personal information.

Device Admin
If granted by the user, the "Digital Detox" app may use the Device Administrator permission to (and only to) prevent users from cheating - make uninstalling of the app during an active Detox harder.

This app is really helpful, especially for my sleep. I was having trouble leaving my phone alone in bed, and it was affecting my sleep. Now I start a 2 hour challenge, and set my phone aside. Knowing I can't touch my phone without paying, even a small amount, really does help. Before too long, I drift off. I'm really pleased with this app. Edited to add: I've started having a problem where it starts but the timer doesn't count down and after the time I set (usually 4 hours) I have to hit "quit"
This is my favorite tech limiting app and I've tried a lot of them! It's got every feature I need, a super simple interface, and the devs always reply to emails if there's any issues. I don't just use this for a full detox, but it's also my app for scheduling focus times. You can set several different options like "work" and "family time" (you can edit the labels), and then use these for separate automatic schedules that block what you don't need for that time of the day. Perfect app, thank you!
It really does it's job. In the settings you have the option for "no cheating" which basically makes it impossible to go around the timed lock/detox unless you pay. I've had this app for months and "detox" while I work from home to avoid scrolling endlessly on apps. im able to select a few apps I need (phone, messages, work related apps). It has really helped me focus on work!
Honestly this app has helped me cut down on so much time spent on my phone at night. I am very thankful for the blocks that this puts in place as it forces you to make a choice that will cost you if you want to end your detox. It's healthy and promotes good tech discipline. Although I wish quitting with the mentor code was a little more intuitive. I've had times where I didn't know if I quit or not after putting in the code, and then I needed to text for another one. Overall solid.
