The board game:

Can't create a 4 person multiplayer game. No info anywhere to explain why. It's very confusing to use multiplayer. Desperately needs QA/UX. Update: After reading forums I see that we need to buy the game to enable the 'custom' game mode, but even that is unclear what needs to be purchased from the in-game store. The store doesn't say what you get for various purchases. I'm trying to find a way to contact their customer service. Even paying for the game is hard, they make it very confusing.
The game's overall design is impressive, but the experience is significantly held back by its monetization model. The basic board costs $6, which feels unjustifiable when there's no way to earn gold coins through gameplay,purchases are the only option. A free-to-earn system would make the game far more accessible and enjoyable for all players. It's a total waste of time 👎👎👎
I love Catan. I used to love this app. But the developers are ignoring the bugs. The game is unplayable now. 1) it takes forever to find opponents. I've waited over 20 minutes before. 2) do NOT let your screen turn black. it freezes and locks the game. 3) the AI sucks. it gets in a trade loop and will NEVER finish its turn. only option is to quit the game because the turn timer never runs out on AI. 4) the game randomly freezes on players in most games. only option is to quit.
changed to 2 stars because if and when it works, it is fun. But every time it updates, there are more problems in starting an online game and more inescapable freezes after updated version us. loaded. This happens to my husband also, so we cannot login without it immediately returning to a stuck "rejoin" stage, so cannot even quit to play other games. So Frustrating!
