I tried the free version for 4 days and it wasn't great. No matter how many times I try, I can't pass a level because the app doesn't recognize when I pluck the 2nd string 3rd fret. I've experienced troubles like this on multiple lessons here, but at least I could pass those levels. Also, the lessons are too easy, even for a beginner. I've had much better luck learning chords and songs on YouTube. Downloading a metronome app has helped a lot too.
The app is like Duolingo for guitar. it's simplistic and extremely repetitive with basic single cord exercises that doesn't provide you with any realistic progress. Then it will hit you with "complicated" exercises that start exciting you, only to go back to the boring useless 1 cord exercises. Then there's the issue of the app not picking up on the sound. I know I play it correctly, but sometimes it doesn't register. no one can possibly learn this way. Find stuff at U-Tube instead for free.
excellent ! I did the free version for almost a year until recently when I purchased it for a year..it's great for me because it motivates me..it has lessons on it that are easy to follow and also a training section. just in the past two weeks I've gotten quicker at playing lines 1,2,3..I'm a beginner but I make a point to play/ practice at least 40 minutes a day..if your on the fence about purchasing the app go ahead..it will help
Hit detection is sloppy on guitar, won't always register all the notes I'm playing, and sometimes registers notes I know i'm messing up on, and there's no penalty for hitting strings outside of what it's asking me to. Skill level suddenly went from extremely basic to jumping around with barre chords that I've never seen before. 20 minutes a day for free is way too little. At least make it possible to keep going even if that means putting in ads or something. Can't replace a real teacher, yet.
