The game is fine. It's everything surrounding it that sucks. It takes an extremely long time to load even if you set your monsters to not move. The amount of pop ups telling you to go to the store, about a daily bonus, or begging you amto watch ads because you haven't pkayed in a while is ridiculous. The pop up ads do not help in the slightest. Especially because the only way you're going to effectively fight in this game is with mythics and ancestors which have expensive habitats.
This game is pay to win, if you are thinking about spending money, spend it on something you'd actually enjoy. This game is extremely greedy when it comes to grinding for monsters. New items like relics and runes make combat incredibly unbalanced, I am not grinding that much for a mobile game and why Is everything so damn expensive?? This game is dead to me and it's only fun offline. Please don't spend real world money on this game.
The game is completely centered around manipulating you into buying gems. They purposely don't give you enough time to complete events in hopes that you will purchase gems to collect the rewards. Instead of expanding and offering more islands to place your monsters, you have to buy additional islands with money. Seems to me that the developers have gotten lazy and greedy. This game could be so much more than a trap to spend money but I seriously doubt that day will ever come.
Randomly force closes during battles, which gives you an automatic loss, and that especially sucks when it's a team event. Also randomly force closes after ads (and there's a lot of ads) but doesn't credit you for watching it. Monsters are basically impossible to rank up without spending money. Battles against players who spent money ranking up their monsters is totally one sided. Half the time you don't even get a turn. Great game if you can afford it.
