Let me offer a helpful opinion, if I may. This app provides an engaging path to learning some modalities of French. But I think the design has parameters that are undesirable, to say nothing about price. Essentially, there is no option to advance faster than the lessons, so if you have trip planned in 3 months and you're motivated to learn, you'll be held back. If a foundational knowledge of French, you can't grow. At $1 each (with deals), it's expensive. And you can't cancel anytime.
Yes the lessons are fun and interesting and I looked forward to doing them. And during the trial I started to justify spending the $24/month on this program. Lo and behold at the end of the trial I go to sign up and it's $24/mo with a 36 MONTH commitment or $65 month to month. I actually logged back in a couple hours later because I was sure I misread something but no, that's the price they've come up with. And for that you are extremely limited to five 5-10 min exercises per week? No thanks!
Doesn't render the screens correctly, making the app unusable. I took the time to contact support, including all relevant details, and this was their reply: "Have you tried to logging out and then logging back into the application? If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to provide further details" 🤦♀️ Why would I risk a paid subscription? Uninstalled.
While the app is very nicely made, probably the best of apps I've used, I just can't express how ridiculously expensive it is. Since you cannot do more than a lesson per day, even if you manage to not miss a day you pay for, for the monthly subscription the cost per time learning is about on par with having 1 on 1 lessons with a certified French tutor (given you count in the time spent on homework) and clearly those are superior, as you work on your pronunciation too. It's just unbelievable...
