(Note: Musicolet doesn't fetch lyrics automatically from internet. You have to manually write or paste lyrics in tag editor, if there is no embedded lyrics. It doesn't fetch lrc file automatically. For lrc files, You have to find lrc file from internet, put it in the same folder and rename to exactly match it with audio file name manually.)

The one. After a grueling search and 30+ apps, I am happy to say that this one won with very little actual competition. Extremely powerful, customizable, but not bloated, and user-friendly. If I had to compare this to others I'd say that it has the flow and ease of use of Samsung music and other barebones built-in music players, while having the power of a full-blown desktop client akin to foobar2000, even exceeding it in some regards! Try it, spend 2 minutes in the settings, you'll love it!
This app is a miracle in the modern age of music apps and apps in general. It has so many actually useful features, while still being completely free, even without ads! Seriously, if you have any music tracks downloaded you NEED to download this, it is so nice and has more to offer than bigger apps like Spotify, with nothing locked behind a paywall.
The key point of this app is focusing on playing music, only. No ad, no extra stuff like streaming, searching online, etc., no dependency on external connections. Once you load your music, there are plenty of features, not excessive but to the point, to help you enjoy playing music, which is really what such apps should all focus on. Been enjoying it for many years! 👍 Now I'd encourage the maker to port it on Apple as well. I'm surprised it's not there.
review from 6/15/26: i have a huge music library and use a different program for MP3s on desktop. i downloaded that companies accompanying app for android and it just didnt cut it compared to Musicolet. I love the individual queues, organization, and unique tidbits from this app. I am re-downloading the app and will use this over all others. Faithful user 2+ yrs! older review 4/28/24: No ads which is exactly the problem I had with another free music player app. Thank you!!
