The ZOOKEEPER you know and love is back, with a slew of new features in the mix – event rankings, avatar customization, item collection, and more – for a great new experience!
The game is simple! Long-time ZOOKEEPER fans will know the rules already, but new players can jump in and be playing in seconds too!
Right now, take part in a battle events and aim to get special rare prizes! And the game will feature more and more events as time goes on, including Raid Battles against unique, limited-time-only characters!
- How do you catch animals?
Simply swap adjacent animals to match three or more of the same animals, and they're caught!
- How do you play against other users?
Each round, you have 30 seconds to catch as many animals as possible, and the aim is to build up your score enough to beat your opponent.
If your opponent's LIFE runs out… you win!
If you both have some LIFE left… one more round!
*If neither player wins after 5 rounds, the winner is whoever has more LIFE remaining.
If you can't win, go one more round! If the game is not won in the final five rounds, the winner will be determined by the remaining LIFE.
- Your opponent has the same animal panels as you!
In every match, you and your opponent will share the exact same animal panels. Even the new ones that fall in to replace those you've caught!
This means you have to catch those critters more efficiently than your opponent. Luck doesn't come into it! Or does it? Item panels will fall in randomly. If you're feeling lucky, victory could be yours!
- Master active chaining!
If you just sit and wait for animal panels to disappear… you're missing out!
While the animals you've caught are busy disappearing, you can be working on your next catch, and the next, and the next one after that! Chain catches together to be a true master.

If communication is cut off during a match for any reason other than dropping the app, you will enter the match using a score calculated based on information from your opponent's past battle results.

Pretty good but not anywhere near as good as the DS version. Mainly I was hoping for (and greatly disappointed by lack of) the different game modes, particularly Tokoton and especially Quest. I also much preferred the binoculars system from DS. They also did the typical mobile game thing of having very limited number of tries/energy before you have to wait or pay for recharge and more annoyingly, instead of 1-3 binoculars per round, they sometimes drop down like the animals, sometimes none do.
I have been playing since 2012. I am now at level 118 and it is still a fun game. I spent money a few times on things but, they are really expensive for what you get and you can just wait and grind it out for free. It's a time based game so, don't try to play for a long time. Just play for 15 minutes like 3-4 times a day when you are bored. That is the best way to earn stuff and not spend any money. Save your medals. Save up like 120+ medals then blow them all on the gotcha game. Best way!
The best game of all time. I played this game daily from 2013 to 2019. I had to uninstall to stop playing as I was seriously addicted it's that good lol. I became sick recently and tried new games but all I could think about was Zookeeper and how nothing is better than this one. So here I am again like old times. The music is cute and catchy. The illustration is fantastic. All aspects of this game were brilliantly thought out. The creater of Zookeeper is a genius!
The only game I've kept on my phone through multiple phone changes over several years. Great for quick 1-2 minute matches. It's pretty competitive (my rank is like 2.6 million after ~700+ battles) , but that's what keeps it interesting! Only weird thing is that it always downloads some event data whenever you launch it, once per day.
