This game is nice! However, compared to the first one, it's..incredibly short? Still enjoyable, but it is dissapointingly quick. To clarify, two stars gone not because of bad quality, but because I wanted more. 6.99 is pushing it, in my opinion, but if you have the money and have played the first one, I'd spend it. Overall, good game, just very short. Also, more enjoyable if you play the first Soul Stone War!
The story is greatly improved from the first one in my opinion especially the secret route. You get to see so much more of all the characters while getting to interact with them in a multitude of different ways depending on your choices. This one is less stats heavy like the previous one and more reliant on your choices which I really enjoyed. You know and feel how impactful your choices are and if you act without thinking rationally (like I did) the game can end in 5 minutes. Highly recommend.
While I wouldn't say it was badly written at all, I was a bit puzzled by the story here. I didn't think the main plot was just gonna be rescuing a certain friend, with the story taking place a short span of time. Maybe a 3rd entry would make me feel better. I am looking forward to the next game still and found the soul stone plot rather intriguing.
I was very excited when I spied the release of this second installment. As with the first book I loved each of the characters and their personalities, particularly seeing the MC becoming closer and more open with the group vice versa. While at times the pacing felt a little rushed, some sequences flashing past with only one or two choices involved, I still really enjoyed the experience. I think with just a bit more content in each chapter and more choices this would absolutely hit 5 stars!
