Wow, just wow! I was reading reviews for another game in which someone was comparing it to Botanicula. At first, it was difficult and a bit fustrating with no hints, then I let go and embraced the adventure. I have to admit that I turned to a walk through when I got stuck. This game is full of whimsy and surprises, different, yet familiar enough. I was sad to finish it, started to play it over, it's still fun! Bummed to just have discovered it, but better late than never! Look forward to more!
Botanicula is unlike any other game I've ever played. This was my go-to game for relaxation & stress relief after a long day. The pleasantly strange characters, surreal setting and soundtrack is pure gold to me. It is full of surprises & makes me happy! I truly appreciate the art and creativity. I badly wish there were a PART 2. I wish it would never end. P.S. The 55 achievements didn't register for me at first. It was until I re-played the game for a second time that I became aware of these.
This is one of the cutest games. It has whimsy characters and soundtrack. At first it was a little confusing but then you get the hang of it. The Artistry is simply amazing in this game. I cannot believe I just now found it. My only complaint, it is simply not long enough. I beat it in about an hour and a half. It should be 10 times longer, I did not want the game to end. It's been years why isn't there a part 2. Part two please and make it longer with more interactions and character stories 🙏.
So I truly enjoyed the game and story, but I also was legitimately frustrated with how many 90s-era "logic" puzzles there were. Often there were no hints to what you needed to do next, and I found myself looking up a couple parts because I was stuck for quite a while. The game was still lovely in its own weird way, and I'm glad I played it. Just...kinda annoyed at having no hints for some of the steps.
