While I adore the silly cartoon randomness and the breadth of the strategies and tactics one can employ, I have consistently ran into issues with trying to boot the game up; if it can load past the title screen, I'm golden, but at ANY point it may just crash and I'm back to the home screen, to say nothing of the heat and power drain. I want to love this game more, and I imagine the PC experience would have been leagues better, but the mobile version is horribly unoptimized and needs work.
A great strategic card-based roguelike. The optimization issues are still present to a degree, but I haven't seen any major problems. The devs are extremely responsive, and I've noticed quite a few changes for the better that weren't present in the initial launch on PC. However, it seems like the cloud backup for my save file isn't updating, and I'm not sure how to resolve this. I plan to get a new phone soon, so I would like to be able to transfer my data if possible.
I absolutely adore Wildfrost. The art style is adorable and captivating. Although, don't be fooled by the cutesy characters, this game can be brutal at times. The gameplay is unique and addictive as well as easy to pick up, but incredibly difficult to master. I do have a small nit-pick though, please add savefile synchronization between platforms. I want it so badly. 😭
One of my favorite roguelikes from PC, and it's been ported pretty much perfectly to mobile. Keep in mind: the free download is a demo, and the full game is a one-time purchase, but it's worth it as there are no microtransactions afterwards. The game is adorable and also, SHOCKINGLY difficult. I think many people compare it to Slay the Spire because it's a roguelike deckbuilder, which is true, but I think Into the Breach is an even better comparison. Come for the cuteness, stay for the tactics!!
