Edit from 5 stars to 1. Once the light processing plant is unlocked, you have to watch an ad to play the map. No. no no no no. You are not going to get away with forced ads and expect a good review. I've watched countless ads on my own volition because I enjoy the game, and the reward boosts are a qol feature. When you force advertisements, you essentially admit your intention. Ads are not a core gameplay mechanic of any good game. Final review? 1/5.
3/12: 2* Way too many overpriced micro transactions. There's 2 battle passes for 1 season. Lots of text is incorrect. For example, pet combination says 2 pets but actually takes 4. Prop combination says it takes 2 pets... and there's an energy mechanic. So much wasted potential for the actually enjoyable tower defense part of the game. 4/27: 1* Still no fixes. Also the silkmoth mode is almost unplayable. The load icon for unlocking towers gets bigger each time until it blocks the entire screen.
This is a great game, but multiplayer doesn't work no matter what my friend and I try, and playing with friends is the only reason he dled it. Had to knock off a star for that. Other than that disappointment, the game is fun and I love how many different towers, heros, and weapons there are to choose from to make the gameplay not just dumb luck. I wish I didn't have to go through so many menus after every level to collect all the perks. That's pretty annoying.
Overall it's a great game. Just on the game alone, I would rate 5 stars. I have it at 4 though since there are red blips everywhere that you can't remove after clicking on them, each one is for you to see the multiple microtransactions all across the screen instead of maybe just 1 red blip on the shop icon. Other issue which is minor, the name taken feature, so many people play games and take the good names then quit so those are forever gone.
