There are many mobile games that fall behind their PC counterparts and competition. This is not one of them. Exploration is easy, and being on mobile doesn't make it unnecessarily difficult. Each battle and puzzle you complete is up to you for how fast you want to go, while also putting up a great challenge. Not the mention the outstanding story, characters, and world building. It's extremely immersive and compelling. I play this game because I love every single thing about it.
I absolutely adore this game for a multitude of reasons, but I will say that the devs are getting greedy. Older characters have been powecrept so quickly there's no point in bringing them to any new combat content. There is also a huge lack of 4 stars. Parts of character kits are starting to be locked behind constellations when they should be included at E0. Overall I'm deeply concerned that the game I love is going to end up soulless and greedy. Star rail has so much going for it.
The game is solid. The story is like pizza when it's great, it's unbelievable, and when it's not, it's still pretty good. However, the biggest problem is progression. Farming takes a very long time (at least without spending money, I tend not to). Repetitive battles make the game feel dated. Additional options don't help if material can only be obtained by repetitive auto battles that you HAVE to watch. This broken element keeps me away from playing more of the game.
The game is much fun, heavy on the dialogue but I can't complain much since it's meant to be a story game, the dialogue options and references are fun when you get to them. With gameplay it's much fun, though after you catch up on the story there's not much to do other than build your characters and get ready for the next drop. People worry about powercreep and it's a valid concern, but what's meta and what's possible aren't the same thing, just play however you like and with whoever you like~
