It's a great app for guides, official notifications, tools and such. However, the recent update which moved the Character Channel from the Home section to the Groups section with the characters under their the tab of their respective games was a terrible decision. Not only is it less efficient and harder to find, but the Favorites/Recently Joined section which contained all the characters players are actively accompanying is gone. Players have to hunt and search for their characters now. Awful.
I've been trying to log into my hoyolab account on my laptop, but every time I try it tells me too many requests. I'll try logging in again 10 minutes later but the same thing. I'll do it a day or two later, same thing. It used to work but now all I get is a small pop-up saying too many requests. I've tried closing everything, restarting my laptop, trying on a different wifi, and different sites like crime and opera. I had one of my friends log in through their laptop and it worked perfectly?!
The app is full of annoying crybaby Westerners and the same stupid "who I'm pulling for" posts or people complaining about character designs. Comments are censored and deleted. I've had personal posts deleted with no warning or notification. The "Visit" section is horribly unoptimized. We need a way to group our favorite characters and a faster way to hit the "heart." Giving us the option to mass "Visit" all the characters instead of going to 20+ individual pages would be great.
My app suddenly logged me out and even though I've changed my password the app absolutely will not let me log back in. I'd report it as a bug, but you can't report bugs if you can't get into the app. Update: To anyone who is having the same struggle as I was. As a final attempt, I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. It was only then that I was able to log back in. I hope this helps. Aside from this bug, the app is really helpful.
