About this app
For apps targeting Android 7.0, you can't use file URI when launch file related apps. Install this plugin when you have apps that only support File URI. In most cases, you do not need this plugin.
This app is primarily used for compatibility mode of the file manager. We advice to install this app only when users have specific problems to open files. This plugin is for using File URI. https://developer.android.com/about/versions/nougat/android-7.0-changes#sharing-files
If you do not have problems to open files and you do not understand that what is this plugin for, do not install this plugin.

File URI is a simple and helpful plugin that allows your file manager to open a variety of different file extensions that it wouldn't normally be able to. The ridiculous reviews that claim the app is nefarious are from uneducated people without an understanding of how the Android OS actually functions. 5⭐ for functionality and support of various file extensions as advertised.
This app is a plug in for certain other apps when compatability us needed for certain types of files. My file explorer error app - CX - needs it to work seamlessly with rar files. In other words when I want to open or compress a rar file , thus app simply points CX to my rar app , making it faster and easier to complete the given task. Its not Spyware, or a virus. Dont be dumb.
Have used the file app alone and along with this plugin for a couple few years now.. Other than massive un permissed file downloads and regularly double triple and quadruples of my system files etc etc I guess it's ok... Seeing as HOW IT ABSOLUTELY DOES NOTHING WHATSOEVER (LOOK AT THE APPS NAME, it doesn't even have a flashlight capability...)
Not sure I even need this anymore. I did once upon a time, now I just install it with the main app out of habit. I know it looks sketch, and the dev's responses don't help much in countering that image, but it's harmless. Dev's just an awkward kinda dude, but a good developer. Talked to him a while back, to troubleshoot some issue I was having. Decent guy, just not all cheery. Programming does that to a man.
