Use to play this game a couple years ago, came back because it was fun back then. Only to find out when I get back to the game it's become microtransaction and FOMO hell. There's a pass now? And multiple versions of the pass? My ad removal was revoked after the season ended, even though I paid for ad removal back then and it was permanent. Now they only have ad removal if you pay for each season. Unacceptable.
I played this game on and off for years and the art style was the thing that always brought me back, but recently they've moved towards making art with AI, its obvious on Halla's portrait art and her newest skin, and its extremely disappointing. The old portraits were so full of detail and love and care and these new skins are lifeless with flat shading and nonsense geometry, so for that reason, I'm out.
This game was a surprise for me. It is fun and simple to play, yet strategy matters, and you can ramp up the difficulty of the levels to give yourself a challenge for more rewards. The enemies are unique and can provide a challenge. The only thing missing is a bit of story. Even a hobbled together story that unfolded as you play would have added a little more depth. Overall this game is a great find and a solid way to pass the time.
This game is good. Really good. It slows down for a bit after the initial sprint, but the game loop is very solid and I have a lot of fun playing all the time. Even when I'm not playing optimally. All ads are optional, and useful. Sometimes one or two of them will get a bit long but most of them are fair length. I found that this game has embedded itself into my routine. It's probably the most fun I've ever had with any phone app ever. Yeah sure it's a gacha game with soul. Developers care.
