Typically very good, but recently it has been failing in a very cumbersome way. It will lose its internet connection, not tell me anything is wrong but will shut down all apps from accessing the internet (kill switch was on), and be unable to disconnect. The only way out of it is to restart the phone. It's happened a few times intermittently and seems to happen when I go from a Wifi area to a cell area (i.e. Walk out of range of the Wifi). This has been an annoying problem.
Used to be awesome but with the last few updates, web browsing has become impossible. DNS errors, sites timing out, soooo slow. Reinstalling doesn't help. Connecting to a different server doesn't help. Tried on multiple networks on my side (I travel often). The only solution that works is disabling the VPN which kind of defeats the purpose. Other VPN providers are great, it's only Bitdefender that seems to be a problem. Support couldn't help so... What are we paying for again?
Update: Access to local devices is an amazing feature. The VPN works great. Awesome development team fixed fixed below issue within days: only complaint is when casting, I have access to the devices but I can't set the location to US. Some services don't work outside the US like Disney+. So when I try to go back to those apps, they won't work. I'm trying to set the server location to United States but it isn't showing up on the menu. Only automatic is selectable.
So far I've been unimpressed by this VPN app on mobile and desktop. I have this installed on 10 devices for the last 6 months and everything has the same problems. On mobile, when it's left active for more than a few hours, it stops allowing traffic through and doesn't recover until I manually disconnect and reconnect. This makes it useless on the families devices as they aren't technical. Another problem is that Ad blocker really doesn't work well. My home VPN blocks almost all ads.
