About This App
The Loire Valley during the 15th Century. As influential princes, the players devote their efforts to careful trading and building in order to lead their estates to prominence. The many ways to gain victory points in this building game require careful thought round after round along with extensive planning ahead. Thanks to the different estates, the game remains challenging for the players for a long time, as no two games play out alike. The winner is the player with the most victory points at the end of the game.

I enjoy the solo playing mode and really have seen no problems. Recently, though, I played with my wife in the 2 player local mode and it was a disaster. Multiple times the same player was given 2 turns in a row. when it finally switched to the other player, then that one got 2 turns in a row. I would have thought by now a big this visible would have been fixed. The app is running on my Android tablet.
The more I play this game, the more I think the level 2 bots are harder than the level 3s. The level 2 bots play to win. The level 3 bots play to make you lose and as soon as you figure that out, it's easy to manipulate it. They also focus waaaaay too much on boats and mines at the expense of other things. Actually saw one turn a 6 into a 5 (expending a worker) to take a mine because I had a five instead of taking the mine on the six. It's sad really. The game, otherwise, is beautifully done.
The digital version is a blast if you like The Castles of Burgundy. For a perfect 5-star review the devs should look into online matches freezing up. Sometimes I have a game showing it's my turn after I've played, but upon entering the match I receive the "waiting for opponent" status. I'd also like the option to skip animations when multiple games are in progress. Other than that, great app which holds true to the physical game.
Alas after the update I need to change my rating and review. The update is bad. It constantly tries to get me to sign into my google acct. I don't want to sign into it, quit asking! The pop up avatar figures are annoying and I can't find a way to turn them off! The color difference between the building and mine hexes seems even closer than before. This went from a five star review to a two star review. The only improvements are the new maps and the fast forward button. 😞
