The scan for the QR code didn't work at all, and then there are problems with the lessons. On the parts of the lessons where you listen, you only get 1 shot to hear some parts; the app won't replay the first word or phrase and is a little bit or miss on the others. On the recording parts, after you record the last word, you lose the option to replay not only that word, but all the words/phrases in that section of the lesson.
It is a good resource to go along with the book. The major downside is that when the examples in the app are updated, they no longer match up with the book you bought. I just bought the book a few days ago, and it's already different from the app. The app needs to let you select which edition of the book to use and give you the proper examples. Otherwise, it is instantly obsolete.
Wasted Potential. First and foremost, the speakers in this beginner french lesson sound like they are sped up. What is the point of speaking so fast it is unintelligible to beginners. Ironically, the instructions in english are slow. Second, the app requires constant finger pressing. I would like to be able to listen and practice while i am driving, it is impossible with this app. Third in order to repeat a word or phrase, you must exit back from the segment and start from the beginning.
I was worried when I already bought the French version of the book and then saw the app got such bad ratings but as of Nov 2024 the app works as intended. It's very well organized to match with the different book sections and has the option of playing all the phrases or words in order or you can click them one by one so you can listen to the same word of phrase multiple times. So far I haven't had any problems with it (at least the French version).
