It's a fun little time killer, but with some major problems. First, the RNG percentages are way off. Many others have said this, and it's simple enough to track. A 60% success chance shouldn't reliably fail 90% of the time. But even worse, the co-opportunity play that it pushes so hard always puts you with a bot that effectively does nothing. I get paired with a 'person' 10-15 levels higher than me, yet I consistently put in 70-90% of the damage. Game needs serious tuning.
This game has been pretty fun so far. I haven't really ran into the issues with unit placement like some of the other reviews. My main reasoning for the 3 star is because there's too many microtransactions forced in your face and they aren't even good value. For example, you have to pay $5 a month to remove ads. That is ridiculous. I've seen some cash grabs before, but this one is diabolical. Also it's pretty clear that progression slows to a crawl really quickly if you aren't spending money.
Fun game but the coin cost of upgrades makes it a tough grind past week 1. Also, the instant upgrade packs are priced at $11.99, which in my opinion is $10.00 too much. Especially if you think about the total cost to upgrade to top levels eventually. Stuff like that makes me uninstall games like this, even though they're enjoyable.
This game really reminds me of Lucky Defense... Which I happen to really love. And to be clear, there are enough differences to between them to ensure having both doesn't feel redundant. That being said, if you've played LD, then you'll understand when I say this one is kind of like a single player version of it. For those who haven't played LD (Actually, for anyone, really), this is a very fun and challenging game that has a very charming and whimsical style. Very much worth downloading.
