There is severe security risk in that there is no automatic transfer of meter fare into tallying system. He may not even turn on meter. Instead, cab driver manually punches in a number at conclusion which may or may not correspond to true meter fare. Totally up to driver what he wants to charge. In addition, if driver doesn't show up, app may say he is here now and charge you a cancellation fee, whether he cancels or you cancel. Mostly, things go ok, but every so often big unpleasant surprises.
Using the app was ok until I got a new phone number which seems to have belonged to someone else in the past who had a gett account. Apparently there is no way to delete or login to the account. In order to reach customer support, I had to use another phone and then the rep's most "helpful" suggestion was to get a new number. Can't believe that their system is so incapable and dumb.
It's absolutely brilliant being able to get black cab driver level service on an app. Just can't be beaten. The only reason l have given a 4 is that the app itself doesn't use a 24hr clock making it very easy to make booking time mistakes. I'm also convinced it switched AM/PM when I changed the minutes on my booking. Either way it ended up with me booking the cab for the wrong time the morning I needed to get to hospital for surgery. Customer service were very kind and helpful.
This service is unreliable and extremely slow. If you plan on ordering a Gett during busier hours -- just don't. The app says the average time to find a ride is 1 min. My experience is usually 15 min if I dont give up and decide to walk. Also , when me and my friends use the app together we've seen that the map is completely inaccurate. I see 10s of Gett cars on the map while they see none at all. Please add multiple stops! This is a basic feature :/ Please get more drivers and fix bugs!!
