Just like everyone says, I hit a massive paywall within the first couple of days. I currently have over 20 troops that need active upgrades past level 6 and after playing for a week, I'm still 1/3 away from 1 upgrade. It's probably the hardest and fastest paywall I've come up against recently. So unless you want to play for a few weeke and then... just... stop if you dont or cant pay, this is the game for you.
Fun, engaging, and late-game is pay-to-play to be competitive, but not a must. I personally feel the packages are cheaper than other games, with the most affordable costing 4.99 US. Many levels of things to do, and I personally would like a better ratio for wood rewards and resources for your base/kingdom upgrades. My only complaint is CoOp. You get paired with someone who builds nothing and wants fruit from your effort. Should be able to back out of a CoOp match, and with no penalty.
This game has a great community, and the Clan Wars game mode is a lot of fun. But they keep implementing the most anti-player ideas. Their matchmaking process is broken, so Clan Wars is always extremely one sided. This latest decision to make Level 6 units cost Resources (it was previously free) is ridiculous. I am not spending another cent on this game until this change is reverted.
the only reason I'm still playing the game even though it 100% sucks, is because of the players I met while playing. the game crashes about 20 times every time I open it, and don't even think about listening to music while playing, that's too much for the stupid game and it crashes more. the devs don't bother fixing bugs unless they're game breaking, and of the 5 star reviews ive seen, I'm pretty sure almost all of them were payed to give 5 instead of way lower reviews.
