like other reviewers I've been playing this game for several years. It is one of my fav's. it's a commitment and rather intricate. The only negative is that the game has robbed me of precious in-game resources which are hard to come by and occasionally the battle mechanics don't work properly(usually not in my favor)
A CCG built around a very long and tedious grind gaming mechanic but decorated and implemented in a way that makes it extremely enjoyable. Let me first say that almost 98% of my play time took place five years ago. I can said the game was enticing enough for me too invest hundreds and hundreds of man hours into my account. The game is very P2W focused, so do be aware of that.
Started off easy to get the hang of things, unfortunately things just get extremely difficult and getting gold, materials, and gems are slim to none. it's pretty obvious it wants you to pay for things for the long haul. Definitely not f2p friendly. I planned on giving the game more time to see if anything would change and then it began crashing everytime. Needless to say I uninstalled.
I've been playing for a few years now, and it's one of my favorite games of all time! It's not focused on grinding several hours a day like many games now, but rather popping in a few times a day for a smooth, gradual progression over a long period of time. The game provides a very satisfying and unique experience with a great community. Overall, Spellstone's "long term" style has managed to consistently maintain my interest longer than another game, which is why it definitely deserves 5 stars.
