This could be a great app, but unfortunately it falls short on being able to do "basic" things. The most annoying of which is the fact that it constantly shows an hourly forecast, even though I change it to 10 day. It's ridiculous. I should not have to keep changing this. I wanted to purchase the full version, but experience dictates that when the free version is this screwed up, the paid will be even more disappointing. And Google is also NO HELP when it comes to requesting a refund.
I always liked this app until the recent update. I now can no longer use the app because it says my phone is rooted. People choose to root their phones for specific reasons. I can still use all my banking apps after I configured my phone to pass the SafetyNet. TWN doesn't collect any personal financial data (please tell me you don't), so what's the big friggin' deal to not allowing rooted phones? It's just to check the weather and I can do the same on your website for crying out loud.
No longer works with a VPN, which is intrusive as it allows more access to your data, primarily for ad targeting. As a 30+ year network security specialist, I can assure you that there is ZERO excuse, other than data farming, for the developers to block VPN usage. This app has many serious privacy issues and is a data collecting sponge (go read the fine print). Deleted.
The ads are ridiculous. They pop up everywhere, usually after a delay, and they've changed the UX so that if you initiate a drag to scroll on an ad (which may not have been there a fraction of a second ago), it acts as if you've clicked on the ad and forwards you to your browser. Horrendous experience and makes the app nearly useless.
