As happens with many games in my experience involving the use of dice, there are serious questions about the randomness. This backgammon game is no exception. My computer opponent seems to get a lot of doubles at seemingly opportune times. Hmmm! Serious cause for me to wonder. I deleted this app and only lost 99 cents. This wisdom for next time where I might consider paying for an app is not too expensive.
I've tried dozens of backgammon games, some good, many not, and found Hardwood to be the best. The graphics are beautiful, the play is smooth, and the characters are fun, but that's not important to me. Fair, random dice is what makes a superior game. Hardwood has it. I can't speak for the online play because I just play with the AI. The only flaw I've seen is when the AI is baring off. Sometimes it makes mistakes which give me a victory I don't deserve. Better than the otherway, though.
On the hardest difficulties the opponents always seem to roll exactly the right dice to punish you. The game still has micro transactions even after paying. I regret my purchase.
Bought pro version after awhile it requires additional subscription to earn points. Don't buy this! Online players are rude and impatient. Documentation of controls non-existent.
