I'm an Australian Android developer building Shuttle Podcasts for listeners who want a simple, fast podcast app without bloat.
You may know my other apps: Shuttle Music Player and Muzei Music Extension. When my favourite podcast app shut down, nothing quite hit the spot - so I built something for myself in the same minimal spirit. Clean, fast, focused on what matters: listening.
It's been working well for me for a while now, and I've been polishing it into something I can be proud of.

Off to a good start. it's modeled after the Google podcast app for better or worse. it gets regular updates. works well on carplay. doesnt crash. Some minor issues that I'm sure will we get worked out: 1. most of the time hitting the play button on a new podcast will load it but not play. 2. I don't know why but it'll autoplay already played podcasts. I see no logical reason why this would be intentional. I can't see. to figure out how to get played podcasts to be ignored.
Absolutely love this app. My only gripe is that in able to mass check and action podcast episodes. I follow a lot of news podcasts and if I go on holiday or get busy, I want to ability to check a bunch of episodes and archive or mark them as complete so they dont sit on my library any longer (since the news is already outdated). Besides that it's been an amazing experience and it's already the best podcast app I've used in a long time even though I'm just a beta tester.
FINALLY! I have tried and deleted soooo many other apps since and none were just a simple interface and clean display. It's easy to find podcasts, easy to add them to my list and there isn't any bells and whistles and getting used to the layout. I'm delighted with this app and would love to thank the developer for making it. I just signed up for the lowest tier subscription I like it so much. (I'll definitely upgrade to a higher tier if I'm ever able to)
Love the Google podcasts dupe design. simple and clean, and easy to find what I'm looking for. My one issue is the 'queue'. I like to set a few episodes up in a queue so I don't need to touch my phone while exercising. despite this, on all four separate occassions, the queue has played a different episode that I hadn't queued, and then always from the start (not from where I was up to on the previous listen) as a result I've listened to the first 20 minutes of the same podcast episode 4 times.
