controls are abysmal. every battle feels about the same because there's essentially only one type of stage so the strategy functionally doesn't change. the game is trying to be competitive but abilities use vague terms like "greatly" or "low" so it's difficult to discern what actually is the strongest. currency to pull new abilities from the gacha is virtually non existent after you get done with the intro battle pass and quests.
The essence of a good game is there but the bad parts of it make me not want to keep playing. Visuals and voice acting are amazing! The gacha rates for abilities are horrible and a waste of money. Rank comms are unhelpful. The ranking generation is unbalanced. At times you'll get paired with a low rank or you get thrown in a higher rank match. Which is a loss from the beginning. The story mode is season limited when it really should be a solo mode opportunity like the challenges.
Despite appearances this is a really good game, albeit at the cost of it being pay-to-win just to enhance any skills. I go by Anzeal in the game and I'm already done with how unbalanced it all feels. Rebalances in the future (as of writing this) or no, I'm probably not going to return to playing it for quite some time.
I like this game a lot. Game is easy to use and learn. incredible graphics, mechanics and game modes make lax gameplay in the hands of the player. I suggest picking a specific fave character, building them up after learning them and focus on that. Needing to get all characters isn't necessary, but much capable to do it if you save Character Tickets to 5 to pick a specific one. I hope they add Cid Highwind, Jecht, Hugo Kupka, and Cid the Veritas from Brave Exvius in the upcoming near future.
