enjoyed the game for a long time. cannot recommend it to new players any more. the game keeps reducing the rewards so one would have to spend money to progress at the same rate. would be very very expensive for new players to become competitive. the big spenders have become too powerful which is what destroys these type of games in the end. i would look for a newer game where the big spenders are not taking over yet.
i have been playing this game for about 3.5 years. i think it is worthy of spending some cash on the game to reward the developers for a good solid product and have done so. But i am finding it increasingly difficult to play because there are players with more 10x the power from older servers or that pay considerable cash to be overpowered. the result is that a single player dominates every part of a server and dominates the seasons. the rest of us are fodder.
Great game! I've played it on and off for years. However, I have a level 22 account and the game has so much going on that it struggles to function properly. There's lots of glitches such as events not leveling up properly, or text not rendering properly after a few minutes of game play. If there was a way to cut down on all the visual clutter and things running so the game could run smoother I would totally give 5 star. This is my favorite empire strategy/ management simulator of all time!
I've played this game on and off for years and it's the only 4X game that's ever kept my interest. Tons of features, events, updates, and beautiful graphics. I absolutely love the customization of the ant colony and watching the ants move in it. There are also so many species of ants, insects, other arthropods, and some mammals and lizards featured throughout the game. I noticed though that the newest insect skin is AI. PLEASE don't go in that direction. It would be extremely disappointing.
