This just a great app and has been one of my favorites for the last ~7 years. I use it to understand historical events in terms of what else is going on in the world at that time. Great filters (e.g. only leaders, wars, science, etc.) and time ranges, which is helped by the ability to zoom. For example, find out what was going on in the rest of the world during the 100 years war. Items are linked to Wikipedia if you want more information.
Everyone has already exhausted superlatives in describing how good this app is, but I'll say this: had I had this app when I was in school, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have hated history as much as I did. Kudos to the developer. A small suggestion: when bookmarking an event, I'm only able to add it to one custom list. One should be able to add an event like to more lists. It'll help in detailed, decluttered comparisons like one list for comparing Europe and India, one for Europe and Japan, etc.
This is a useful approach, this may become a very useful app with time, easily a 5*. I like the tie-in with Wikipedia (though history is not Wikipedia's strongest field) and that you can zoom in and out in time. But apart from the time line the entries are unorganised. Not dependencies, geography, cultures. As is it is more like a bookmark app for Wikipedia.
This is awesome. A little hard to use and see everything, but what is to be expected for such a large amount of concise information. I was already in the process of making an excel spreadsheet for this and realized how complicated it is. This app is so useful. I would also like to see a Google earth type globe that you can interact with to see the different areas and dates of these events.
